Often referred to as Pas de Deux, this version is danced by Irma Nioradze, who, judging by the last name, is likely a Georgian gal, and Yuri Posokhov, likely at the Bolshoi.

  • This is the most beautiful music that I have ever heard. The first time I heard it, I was moved to tears (full out tears, like convulsive crying), and it still does bring a tear to my eye.

  • Pyotr Ilich does that to you! I just posted the Garland Waltz from Sleeping Beauty, and it's enough to bring tears to the eyes, too.

  • Georgian gals are doing very well in the World of Ballet. First there's the great Nina Ananiashvili, from whose video this has been cut, and now this Irma. Too bad the Georgians aren't as good at politics as they are at Ballet!

OK, Ballerinette, who are the other two?

I just posted Waltz of the Snowflakes from the Kirov (Mariinsky) by the way. Lezhnina and Baranov. And I just D/L "Romeo and Juliette" by Prokopiev at Royal Albert. To come. (1.3 GB!)

  • From 2:50 to 3:33, my heart breaks. Every single time I watch that part. The music itself is so haunting, and conveys such beautiful emotion, and the choreography is also lovely. One of my favorite parts in all of classical ballet, most likely.

  • Outstanding performance, a swann couldn't dance better than Irma Nioradze

  • Her arms are amazing!

  • This lady is amazing! love her!

  • Beautiful

  • Also Nelli Kobakhidze (Bolshoi), not to mention Georgian guys: Nikolai Tsiskaridze (and Balanchine was Georgian too).

  • ya know, i really think that it's ok that she makes sounds with her poine shoes. She just has to roll hrough her feet a bit more, but they might be fairy new shoes, so i have to remember that too. She's a wonderful dancer!!!
