i have a big question\.. so i put the starter on but when i crank it from my key i makes a loud scratching sound but when i direct connect the starter it starts normally with out the scratching sound??? whats the problem

@jblions95 If you have shims in it, it might be to far from the flywheel. I would check to see if it has shims in it.

are the principals the same for a 96 corsica? the starter in the same engine area location?

I have just installed a new starter to my 99 suburban. It started fine 3 times, then it stayed on, with the key removed, until the battery died. what did I do wrong??

@Richy2316 It may be similar on the 2.4 motor. At a minimum the basics should reply when you remove it. Hope this helps you out.
