  • @m1sham0ney Step one. Move to a free state.

Step two. Get new upper receiver.

Step three, enjoy being in a free state.

In other words yes. It is required.

Unless you want to butcher your barrel with a dremel when you chop the gas block (front sight)

  • will a low profile dpms SASS gas block and barrel work with this rail

  • @m1sham0ney i would advise you to go to a gunsmith to have taken care of im from NJ and mine was pinned so the gunsmith pretty much had to destroy the original muzzle brake to get it off so your gonna end up buying a new muzzle brake as well

  • @m1sham0ney You could use a rotary tool like a dremmel to CAREFULLY cut off the front sight, then install a two-piece gas block, such as a YHM Spectre that will fit under the rail.

A quicker, easier, and less expensive way would be to use the aforementioned tool to cut and shape the existing sight, then finish the exposed metal with something like duracoat or a cold bluing solution.

  • Do you have to remove the muzzle device? I live in New York and the muzzle device has to be permanently attached to the barrel.

  • facinating
