bus driver is CRAZY.

That driver is a real idiot for cutting you off like that. I would've got the plate number and reported the fool.

@greynraney believe it or not, buddy, cyclists are people too, and they have days too. They also have their days ruined. so helmet cams (or dash cams, for that matter) help to provide evidence in court.

LoL!

Were you hurt? No - The problem is that you wear a helmet cam in hopes to ruin someones day. GET OVER IT! And for your information the driver in question won't be bothering you anymore as they have retired to enjoy the good life. And before you get all your bike buddies together to party over getting another driver in trouble, your video had NOTHING to do with it. I would like you to drive a bus for a day and then you might have a better appreciation for what they have to deal with.

@greynraney No, you are incorrect. The helmet cam has several purposes, including providing evidence I (or my heirs) can use in case someone tries to ruin my day.

I'm not sure I see what the problem is here. Maybe the bus driver didn't see you the same way you didn't see the bus. It looks to me to bus driver is just doing their job. How else does the bus make their stop without pulling into the bike lane? We as drivers do our best to watch out for everything there is to watch for on the road. I'm assuming the same goes for bike riders, but in the end no one was hurt - no harm no foul and get over it.

@greynraney The bus driver should have waited until I got past the stop and then pulled in. Or, passed me allowing sufficient room. What's "sufficient room"? I'm not sure what the legal definition of "sufficient room" is. But a practical definition might be that there's no bike in the bike lane between the bus and the curb, and any following bicyclists have sufficient space to stop for the bus moving into the bike lane (continued, below)

@pdxcommuter ...And no, I don't have a good solution for what the bus driver should do if there is a continuous stream of bicyclists in the bike lane. Wait for a gap? Maybe get the legislature to allow a second blinking YIELD sign for buses for moving to the right?

@pdxcommuter Hmmm. You got to love youtube's reverse chronological ordering of 500 character maximum comments. My response to greynraney 2 comments below should have ended with "continued above"
