I've been taking 20mg of Pravastatin a day for about 5 months. I've had no muscle aches or anything along those lines. I, however, changed my diet and started exercising and not due to my doctor's advice but because Youtube videos suggested it. This guy says just that. The doctors hand pills out like candy and don't even put emphasis on diet and exercise. My advice is don't be afraid of statins... just don't think they are a miracle drug. Get on them until you can GET OFF of them.

This is the medical gimmick. They do not tell the truth as they are taken care by the pharmaceutical industry. You loose sexual desire; one of the moast important activity that is inevitable in your prime age.

A friend who's a nurse for 30 years told me she refuses to take the med even though her chol. is 275 because she sees too much bad side effects from patients. Then I talked to a pharmacist who takes the med for years even though he doesn't have high cholesterol cuz he likes the benefits of such med. I don't know what's right!!??? Meanwhile, I lessen meat intake, eat whole grains, & cut out sweet snacks.

Stevdss1, congratulations!
The truth is cholesterol has NOTHING to do with heart disease. People with high, moderate and low cholesterol all have heart attacks. Check out the video Cholesterol and Heart Disease with Dr Malcolm Kendrick. The account is glynwainwright.
I'm reading Death by Supermarket by Nancy Deville. She described 2 researchers way back in 1936 who showed no relationship between cholesterol and heart disease, and several since then.
Statin drugs are worse than snake oil.

if your doctor tells you go on a statin....find a new doctor.

I was prescribed simvastatin and lisinipril 4 years ago. Since then I was diagnosed with mild peripheral neuropathy with weakness in my right arm and leg. I also limp and have balance issues. I had always been athletic and healthy up until about 2 years ago. I blame this on these stain drugs. I went off of them two weaks ago and starting my own vitamin regimine with CoQ-10 , fish oil, etc..
These drugs have ruined my quality of life up to now.

@LifesHardLessons You can't use the "Cookie Cutter" approach...you are an individual. Leave your body alone. Eat for your body type and exercise for 30 minutes/3X/week.
I changed my diet and quit smoking.
If MY doc tells me to go on statins, I shall tell him to stick them up his ass!!!!

I agree with your means of treatment. See , pharmaceutical companies can't patent a nutrient or natural remedy ,hence it doesn't make any profit for them.
thumbs up for your comment.
