Just because there is a correlation with former religiosity, does not mean there is a causal connection. That is just YOUR assumption.
BTW The problem with communism is that thugs use it as a pretense and an excuse for dictatorship. That has nothing to do with atheism. Rather it is replacing one dogmatic ideology with another, contrary to atheist freethought, and a lot like religion has done through the ages.

@mccainisthrough This is very true. The latest statistics in Canada show a 44% increase rate in Atheists/Agnostics to a total level of 30% of the population in 2010. I'm Atheist, proud and I'm Canadian.

You know, I just hate it when christians claim atheists are causing all the world's problems. Cite your sources or leave!
I've made a video predicting when religion dies out, though there must be something wrong with it as there are lots of dislikes.

Crime levels in american have been declining for the last 5 years, this coincides with the fastest growth of atheism ever seen in americas history.
