The Senate Banking Committee questions Treasury Sec Geithner on TARP oversight. The hearing was cooperative and fairly rigorous. Sec. Geithner promised to provide more openness of past and future loans. He also said that banks will have to explain what they want the funds for and then make regular public reports on the progress.
However as this video makes clear, the Treasury is prepared to continue pouring money into the nations 14 "too big to fail" banks. The testimony is not gripping television but two Senators are making the Geithner clarify his position, and actually answers the question.
After 8 years of Senators asking whimpy questions and Administration officials refusing to say anything, the is a refreshing exchange.
is this true?
i can not almost believe this is true...
he basically did not answer one single question
repeating always the same phrase...

What ever happened to the "Free Market theory" ? Obviously It doesn't work. When Mr. Smith the CEO screw up he can always turn to Daddy ( government) to save his Butt. Yet he gets to keep his Million dollars bonus. Alright, lets give the Republicans a secont chance. ja ja ja. NOT!.

What is up with that head down with eyes looking up thing Geithner does. Try it, it's very uncomfortable. His body language says he's lying. Could this man pass a polygraph? He might be able to fool the machine but not the examiner.
