basically ,from what i understand....from the begining he says "don't take my son" which is how parents want their children to stay home and to not experience life....the colonel and the soldiers symbolize life ,with the trials and tribulations..every weak person gets shot..when the girl appears it symbolized those fallen due to the fact that they got burnt by falling in love ..the father always watches close by to see his son....i don't really understand the last scene with the other brother

The fire is the passion that is reflected in your eyes: the desire and passion to become the best in any situation.

The whole video is a series of men dropping to their knees not being able to make it to wherever it is their going. The two gentlemen at the end that make it possessed the fire, which leads them to their goal.

i'm looking at it another way, it's an interpretation of the greek story of prometheus. the song is called, "the fire"- according to the greek legend, promethues tricks Zues and brings fire to humans, which in return gives humans a reason to live, jst listen to john's hook. as the story goes, Zues punishes humans by sending pandora, and with pandora, she has a box and is told not open the box, she does, and by doing so, she unleases all the evils to mankind-hate, lust, envy cont...
