Here is a great satire of Herb talking about were they all came from while listening to a great track. Clip is from the 1967 Herb and TJB Singer show shown on NBC. Tune is from Whipped Cream album. Enjoy.

P.S. I had the once in a lifetime opportunity to see Herb and Lani play at Blues Alley in Georgetown Washington DC 12 May 2008. The show was absolutely spectacular. After all these years, they both still have it: the skills and the love. Truly a remarkable show. Herb and Lani, thanks to all of the wonderful years of warming our hearts with your great art work. You both are truly blessed as well as I was at your show.

  • Man, I tell ya, today's so-called "music" doesn't hold a candle to this stuff! All the whining, screaming, band-in-a-box, American Idiot horsesh** could take a lesson from REAL musicians who played REAL instruments!

I could listen to this hundreds of times a day and NEVER get tired of it!

And thanks for the info, Hunter!

  • Amen!!!!!

  • On this Christmas Day 2011, THIS song is still my favorite one. As a young drummer I must have played it a million times at home. Who knew it was Hal Blaine doing the drumming !!

  • The Singer Presents show originated on CBS and was later rerun on NBC.

  • Before Mannheim Steamroller and Trans-Siberian Orchestra

  • Really nice interview with the band as they reminisce over the tremendous "Lollipops and Roses". Man...you just can't consider real music, until you consider Herb Alpert, who also studio mixed all of their songs. He's still a mighty artist today. I was blessed to sit in the studio with him at 11yrs. old, as he mixed an album of my Dad's Wow. What a Master!

  • -all I can say is I wish music sounded like this today --

  • Real to Real tape FTW !

  • when those bells come in at 1.12, awesome, what a talent these guys were.

  • This is hilarious!!

  • This music is my dad and brings back such great memories.
