test to show the video capabilities of the $79 dash cam i recently purchased. i haven't been out on the highway for a long test, but just wanted to post a short clips to get the idea of the resolution couple quick observations, the two other videos i took used the $99 Oregon scientific set at its best resolution 30fps @ 640 x 480, max about 1 hour 50 minutes recording time pluses of $79 dashcam = ease of operation, included 12vdc car power option. allegedly records right over the original card once card is full, i haven't tested that portion. downfalls no audio recording ability to change the video to a better resolution. i though that it was like the Oregon scientific camera where you can change the resolution. sd cards are so cheap, i would rather have better resolution with a shorter 2 hour record time. No time/date stamp. no audio , audio is important , the resolution on these cameras is pretty poor, but if you have audio the driver can read aloud the license plate of any vehicles performing dangerous manueuvers. the audio is also good to give a verbal time date check if the camera is not setup correctly.

For $79, not bad. I take it this is one of the idrive models. I may get one for my truck. Resolution is good enough to cover me if some idiot car cuts me off and slams on the brakes.
