Shreedeepmusic - your research ability is AMAZING ! R D Burman's Chura liya is a better song BUT it does sample the "..Tuesday..." track AND Donovan the songwriter should have been credited. Abba's "Mamma Mia" was illegally sampled in Hum Kisise kum nahin (tere liya zamana tere liye - from the chand mera dil medley). Laxmikant Pyarelal sampled Abba's I have a dream on Love story's Kaisa tera pyar. The list of Hindi copycat movies and songs is longer than Rapunzel's hair.

Just to correct you the music composer of movie Love Story was R.D.Burman but not the duo Laxmi-Pyare.

Throughout his career R.D.Burman was inspired by some or the other music sources. The list is long.

Over the years Iv'e heard bollywood bashing accusing it of lifting songs & music from world over, & saying that there's nothing original in India, all by the <40. Not mentioning what west has taken from India over centuries, let me ask you only of one at this time. All know the song Quit playing games with my heart by BAck street boys (1995-6). Does any one know about the Hindi song by Kaifi Azmi, Khelo na mere dil se (1961)? So, was it that KA lifted that from BSB?

@scarletbabe26 I came here after listening to Churaliya and seeing a comment that thisis a copy of donovan's music! But I think RD burman did a great job with Churaliya. I love that song. Is it possible to be 100% original given there are only 7 notes. Even the classical singers sing the same songs again and again! In classical music the creativity is in how one sings that raag and not the song / tune itself. every singer sings the same song differently, so are they also copycats?

@aparaajita10 Well said. However even if someone copies music so what but what hurts is the Bollywood movies and song writer are choking real true original talent in india. Who gets to listen to these original artists when Bollywood captures the attention of all with copied music? Where is the chance for creativity to blossom? When Hollywood copies bollywood or vice versa or whether credit is given or not for me is not the issue.
