Damn...had these type of games been included among "Launch Titles" for the Wii I would have bought one the day it came out. They realized that 2d platforming was still awesome really late

i just played odin sphere and enjoyed it very much. but this game looks like a huge improvement from odin.  much more fast and better looking combos

This game, as stated by the creator and design team was made 2-D on purpose. All of the graphics, and I mean ALL were hand drawn and hand painted, only use of the computer in this part was the stringing together of the actual frames. Also this game does have a story, what game doesn't (even the bad ones)? And there is nothing wrong with 2-D, especially because variety is the "spice of life". The 3-D advocate up there clearly has no appreciation at all for a call back to the beginning of games.

I'm not saying mario is the best game. I'm saying that some games arent meant to be 3d but instead 2d. Because other whise they would become crappy

saying that this is bad and that Mario games are bad to, is wrong. Games are not always about 3d its also about the style of how you make it and the looks. thats why its 2d this game because this way they could make it look like Japanese drawings
