"Anyway, don't feel like you have to, but if you want, there are tickets."
"Sure, why not? I got nothing better to do."
"Okay, ouch."
"I'm just kidding."
"I know, so I'll leave the tickets at gate. Come to the backstage entrance. I'll tell them to expect you. Come early and you can hang out for awhile."
"Okay, sounds good."
"All right, so I guess I'll see you tonight."
"Yeah."
"Well, I gotta go before Christian leaves me, but I'll see you later."
"Yeah."
"All right bye, Dani."
"Bye."
I smiled and walked back to the car. I got in the passenger seat next to Christian, who was in the driver seat. "So... how'd it go?" he asked with a hint of teasing in his voice.
"We're not in middle school, Chris."
"My car, my rules."
"My body guard, my rules," I responded, motioning to Big Rob, who was in the back seat.
"I'm not scared of him."
"You should be, boy," Big Rob replied.
Christian looked back at him and then back to me. "Okay, I'm a little scared of him."
Big Rob cracked a smile and I laughed. "She's coming to the concert tonight."
"Ooo," Chris teased.
"Shut up. I just wanna catch up with her. Be friends."
"Oh come on, Kev. You love her."
"Too bad she's not the only one he loves," Big Rob cut in.
"Big Rob! You're supposed to be on my side," I snapped.
"I'm just saying."
"How do you even know about that?"
"Kev, everyone knows except Hayley."
"Who's this Hayley?" Christian asked.
"She's the daughter of one of our techs who's traveling with us since her mom died, and it's no big deal," I explained quickly.
"Except that he left out that shes has a boyfriend back home and Nick likes her too," Big Rob added in.
I turned in the seat to look, or more like glare, at him. "Seriously? Why are you suddenly the gossip king today?"
"I've heard about nothing but this for the past month and I can't tell anyone anything cause Hayley can't know you guys like her, Cass can't know she has a boyfriend, and the general public can't know you guys even think about girls."
"Can we just drop it?" I moaned.
"Wait a second. If she's traveling with her dad and Nick likes her too... How old is this girl?" Christian asked.
"Um, well, 17, but it's legal where she lives, here in Jersey, where we live in Texas, and in all but like 4 states."
"How do you know that?"
"I'm not doing this again."
"Fine, whatever, but you better decide what you want because when Danielle comes to the concert tonight, her and this Hayley girl are gonna meet, maybe even become friends."
Oh man, I hadn't even thought about that. They were both gonna be at the concert. And Maya and Frankie loved Danielle, and at concerts Hayley was either with one of them or with whatever act wasn't performing at the time. Chances were she was gonna meet Dani. And Nick was gonna love this. He could totally use this to his advantage. I mean, I could try to do what he had done in explaining Miley and all, but was that what I wanted? Did I want Dani to just be a friend? "Ugh," I groaned, putting my head back. I'm not sure I meant to say it out loud, but I did. The problem was I didn't know what I wanted. Was it possible to want both of them?
"Well, I guess we should start by getting you back to the arena, huh lover-boy?" Chris said, already laughing.
"Just drive," I snapped, closing my eyes and covering my face with my hands. Tonight was gonna be interesting.
