  • Omg Tom, I really like your reviews but the voice acting/script was fucking horrible. The overall movie was cool, but I couldn't get over the face paced story and horrible dialogue

  • I didnt go crazy about the voice acting, and I never said anything about the script being strong. I enjoyed the other things the film had to offer.

  • the best part in the movie was when 8 was getting high

  • What a great review! I saw the movie and I agree with you, the character development was a let down. I would have gotten attached to the characters more ( even though i did cry when they died) if they gave more info for them. other than that... GREAT MOVIE!!!!

  • @TomChatalbash well, what they were trying to do in this film was to try to break away from the steriotype of a movie NEEDING diologue in order to tell the story, hence the reason why the begining, and end are silent and the rest of the movie is less talkative than most others, so that might be why the script and diologue weren't the best (they wanted that to be a less contributing factor overall) plus, the origional short it's based on was silent, so they were just trying to stay true to that

  • I kind of wish it was more like the original short. I feel like the atmosphere wasn't quite right, it wasn't as desolate and empty as the original. I also wish the story focused on a much simpler plot so it could pace it out slowly and draw out scenes, paying as much attention to every little detail and movement like the original as well. It was still good though.

  • hahaha i loved this movie. altho i thought like it wasnt clear what type of audience it was targeted at.... i watched it with a ton of friends and the part where 6 and 9 are buddies and 6 was killed my friend just shouts DAMN IT NUMBER 6 DIED!!! WHO'S 9 GONNA HAVE NOW?? (dirty minds)

  • Yay! you enjoyed 9 LOL

This is the first review I saw in a while where the critic really analizes the movie :)

Just one question, how come you thought John C. Reilly sounded fake?

  • @horaciosi

That's because they are action scenes. Look up what "action" means if you're still confused.

  • this is the first time i have seen a vid made by tomchatalbash and i can honestly say he did a good job of being a movie critic, he didnt swear, go over the top or give misinformation about a movie and he wasnt bias, but i have to say one thing tom, please dont listen to viewers suggestions about your wardrobe! Because a movie critic who tries to appease his viewers in anyway can be easily influenced in the future..:)

  • @kingjamie2 actually, i don't mind the lack of action scenes, i'm just mad because he clearly said "action scenes"

  • @horaciosi

Hurrrrr yeah the film would be way better if 9-inch sack-puppets beat up metallic robots 10-100 times larger and heavier than them with their bare fists am I right?

    Dullard.

  • @wetwillie73

It was more the script and screenplay that let the film down in terms of characterisation than the voice acting, I thought. Jennifer Connelly had a bit of a vanilla voice.

I pretty much agree with the review. I don't think it would be too awful for children to see it as long as they were over say, 7 or 8 years old. Seeing something a bit harrowing like Watership Down or Coraline or 9 builds character.

    I'd give it 4 stars.
