  • Isn't it nice how he hastily speeds past "wherefore comfort one another with these words"?

Yes brethren, don't worry, the Lord will be coming back. We'll just have to suffer minor inconveniences like beheading and being refused food and water. Nothing to worry about at all.

I wish Pastor Anderson would get this one thing straight. Good thing it's not a doctrine related to salvation otherwise he'd be leading people astray.

I don't see why so many Christians confuse the time of Jacob's trouble.

  • talkingfortruth,

the "comfort one another with these words" is not talking about escaping any suffering and persecution. Read the chapter again.

It's talking about the fact that you will see your saved loved ones again again who have already passed away. That is why we do not "sorrow as others which have no hope" when we lose a loved one.

Did you even read the chapter?

BTW, "Yea, and ALL that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution."

  • So why does the Bible call it the "time of Jacob's trouble" ? (Jer. 30:7)

    Are we (the church) Jacob?

Yes I've read the chapter. And I fail to see how a Christian COULD be comforted under those circumstances. It's not so much what it says, it's what it DOESN'T say that refutes anything other than a pre-tribulation rapture.

Also, just because heretics like Kirk Cameron support pre-trib doesn't add credence to your argument. That's a strawman argument. "Left Behind" also raptured the Pope.

  • Why are you changing the subject?

The context is about believers mourning over saved loved ones who have passed away.

1Th 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

1Th 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

1Th 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

  • I'm not changing the subject. The subject is: how can you reconcile the Bible calling the great Tribulation "The Time of Jacob's trouble" with your belief that the Church will go through the tribulation?

How can you say that's in "context" when you skip over verses 15-17? They seemed relevant when you read from them in the video.

You asked me to read the whole chapter, which I have, and it refutes your argument.

  • 1Th 4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent THEM WHICH ARE ASLEEP.

1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and THE DEAD IN CHRIST shall rise first:

  • 1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together WITH THEM in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

1Th 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

It seems like the context of this is pretty clear: that we will see our saved loved ones again at the rapture. That's the comfort we can take when one of our saved loved ones passes away.

  • Jrsus returns after the tribulation period we must live holy (REPENT)! or you will burn in hell

  • not bad, this is interesting.

  • So really when Jesus says that we will not know the time that He will be coming for He will come like a "Thief in the Night" and when Paul wrote to be on your guard at all times for you will not know when Jesus will return. Does that mean that we will see the signs at the beginning of the Tribulation, and still not be able to know that Jesus is about to return and He will still surprise us?

  • this dude fails to realize its a movie made to try and save people no one could accurately make a movie of the end times because NOONE knows exactly what is going to happen its a revelation- a dream- a forecoming of events that will happen told by a mortal man in a way that god tries to make us aware of what will happen converted over several languages i dont see this guy trying to make a movie in order to try and save people...

  • THERE SHOULD BE NO DEBATE: IF THE BIBLE IS WRITTEN BY INSPIRATION FROM GOD, THOSE THAT PRAY BEFORE THEY READ A PASSAGE FROM IT, SHOULD BE GUIDED BY THE WHOLLY GHOST AND KNOW THE TRUE MEANING OF THESE PROPHESIES. the Lord told me once that ALL i need to know to be saved is in the Bible; all the other volunteer interpreters are just that.

  • Don't understand all the confusion lets just see what Jesus said about all this,

Matt 24:9 Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for my sake. Wow thats Jesus talking of the church lets read verse 13 But he who indures to the end shall be saved! Hello yes church tribulation thats bible.......

  • i love how quickly certain so called "evangelicals" are to crucify kirk camerons work. Nobody of serious sound mind and spiritual conviction views the books or the movies as "God-Breathed." Instead of viewing everything other than the bible as Satanic, try examining the questions this movie could produce (unless you enjoy watching hollywood spit out more crap even as potentially decent movies get stifled)... if your pride can take it...

  • have you read Baxter's book? It's about those pastors in Hell who used to preach God's Word but suddenly got to preaching false doctrine. I'm worried for the fate of this guy!

  • @SheepDoggOne I know!I got to Matthew and was like okay where's the rapture, when do I fly up?We need to armor up with our Lord and remember his words at the end of Matthew"I am with you always until the end of the age".

  • @JermarParker You are so right. When did we begin to assume we get to Heaven on feather pillows?Look at John the Baptist, now that man deserved it:he baptized Jesus! And look what happened to him.
