I'll be heading to Mississippi myself on December 14-18 to work on a similar project, helping finish two houses for families before Christmas. I'm going with the United Methodist Church, but I don't know if there's a specific organization that is manning the spearhead (I'm sure there is).
This summer, I spent a week up in Harlan County, Kentucky doing the same kind of work. I really love doing work like this.
Would you recommend Habitat? My HS had a program, but I never checked it out.
