In its 51st year of trading Swinton Insurance Group announces that it has acquired a leading insurance broker. 600 high street jobs will be secured as a major UK bank steps in to secure the deal. Swinton's CEO, Patrick Smith, asserts that now is not the time for the UK's financial services sector to abandon the high street.
The deal is part of a £175m funding facility with Lloyds TSB, one of the biggest deals the bank has done in this difficult year
Swinton now manages over three million individual car, home and life insurance policies making it the third largest insurance retailer in the UK and the largest in Northern Ireland. It is the only broker to have a truly nationwide network of branches on the high street.
Swinton has three UK call centres in Manchester, Halifax and Norwich and will now employ nearly 5,000 people spread across the country.

This insurance company is a joke.. I strongly advise no one to use these people. They 'CLAW' Money out your bank account. I was told it would cost me £50 to cancel my policy when i signed up. when i canceled they demanded £275 which i refused to pay. They then helped themselves from my bank account and took the £275 without my authorisation. Avoid this company at all costs, do some reserch on the web im not the only one they have done this to!
