Performance by Ben Malcom
Didgeridoo crafted by Will Thoren
Ben bought one of my first Drop Octave didges that i made available for sale and has been rocking the technique since the beginning. He learned the drop octave on a high G just simiar to the high G that i developed my chops with, High drone/Huge mouthpiece- no back pressure = figure out how to not need it:) If you want to hear more of ben here are some links
when he came down to pick up this didge he demoed another one for me

and here is an older didge he demoed a while back

if you want to hear even MORE of ben, find him on the internet and tell him to stop going to grad school:)

  • Very nice performance!!

Sorry for my question, but can you explain me what the differences between a normal didge and a wet didge?

    Thanks and keep on!

  • @SiraOne Thanks from Ben!, WET didges are built to play more than one drone note without slides or valves -all drop an octave below the normal drone and some ( Multi Drone Didgeridoo) play 3-5 different drone frequencies where normal didgeridoos play one drone note that can usually only be bent a note or two down. Normal didges can be modified to play the Drop Octave note as well because it's all in the mouthpiece - WET didges are just all around optimized to make this technique easiest to play.

  • Hi Will, wow that didge! What is the diameter of the end part? Is very large! I like!

    The best!

    Maxi

  • @didgerimbu Thanks Maxi:) The bell opening was 12cm across on the inside so maybe 14cm on the outside

  • Theres something your not going to get

  • Acoustic dubstep.

  • Dude your playing bring my soul joy, you are great.

  • @didgeboy287 LOL..we aren't so unique after all. I honestly do it to warm up not just myself but those listening...you know stretch things a bit and articulate before you lock down into some rhythms. I think if you start off with some effects it also sets an atmosphere.

  • You seriously need to put that in a dubstep song! But on a serious note... Dude! You play awesome!!!!! Make a cd I will buy it I promise.

  • I only mean this in jest, and I think I do the same thing, but it seems like so many didge players when starting begin with a long rhythm-less drone of maybe a few meandering warbling effects before breaking into a dance, trance sort of beat. :)

  • freekin niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice bro ; )
