@b024klb players rarely choose who they play for. I wouldn't call any hockey player a wussy they put themselves at risk of everything from pucks to the face to cheap shot slashes to the head. That takes guts. Watching Dineen play while i was growing up was awesome, he was among the best when it came to work ethic and you can tell he played with his heart and gave 100% every game.
@iangoblin71 It's sad what happened to the whalers rosters throughout the years. The owners and coaches where always so stupid, trading away Ron and Ulf was just retarded. Ron WAS the franchise and Ulf was a solid D-Man and the 3 shmucks we got sucked. Because of stupid shit like that making the teams stay uncertain Shanny wanted to leave before he ever skated in the civic center, which i understand why, but seriously it shouldn't matter where they play they're getting paid to play hockey.
Dineen was an underrated player...good offensive skills, and not afraid to stand up to anyone- fully knowing that he may very well lose the fight. Ever notice how he usually rose to the "C" of the teams he was on? AND he did it for 20 years with a blood disorder and Crohn's Disease. As for the Whalers- if they had a halfway competent coach in the late 80's / early 90's, they may have gotten deep into the playoffs. Check the rosters: Shanahan, Primeau, Liut, Wesley, Francis...

Dineen is a wussy and has no business trying to fight. Played for loser Whalers.
