nah it is a half step, i put it into transcribe software up a semitone and played it to this, its exactly the same pitch

No they sped it up.
Or maybe you're right maybe they hired some stranger to sing the exact same vocal, inflections and all, just slightly higher.

I played it alongside the original, and it's the same speed. I do know that Robbie, Ray and John tried to continue being the Doors without Jim for a few years after he died. Maybe it's one of them singing.

It's really not slightly higher, it's a good deal higher, and well out of what would have been Jim's comfortable vocal range.
