Hands on with the 8pen Soft Keyboard for Android

What if the typewriter had never been invented. What if desktop and laptop computers never came along. What if smartphones had taken their place? What would the "keyboard" look like on smartphones? Would we still lay it out with buttons that represent keys? Would they be in the same order? Or would we have some other input method that looks nothing like what we have today?

swype only fixes half the problem. yes it's optimized for a touch screen, but it still goes off of an outdated keyboard interface. ask yourself this: why are we using typewriter technology on a touchscreen?
