A high res 1080p version of the philosophical talk between JC Denton and the Prototype AI "Morpheus". the original video was captured in 1920 x 1200 16:10, the black bars on the left and right were to preserve the aspect ratio.

I used a FOV hack to achieve native widescreen, so there is no stretching.

  • Playing sophisticated games like Deus Ex and Planescape: Torment makes me feel wiser adn more intellectual. It's amazing what games can do. Good games that is.

  • This dialog is one of the most thought provoking things I have come across, in games or otherwise. It was so good that when I first discovered it I had to shut the game off for a few hours just to mull it around in my head. And the way it ends up foreshadowing one of the games ending is pure genius.

They don't write games like this anymore.

  • @FlippinFlaves Assange speaks to Zuckerberg

  • "JC Denton speaks to the Internet"

  • @cloak211 Remember that it's a prequel that takes place 20-25 years before DX1 and that the issues that are faced in Human Revolution are entirely different (although playing out in the same manner in a massive nod towards Deus Ex' plot structure) and are in no way less relevant than what's discussed in DX. 3D Printing of bones and spray-on skin are not Sci-fi but actually used in medical procedures today. It won't be long now.

  • Good Lord. It's the prototype of Facebook.

  • This wil never get old and by the time we hit ghost in the shell technology this will be relevent

  • @cloak211 Revolution was all about regulating technology, issues that apply to us right now like energy regulation for instance, but that's just a very small facet of government. Deus Ex went well beyond that and explored scenarios of state control outside the forms of government we've grown to know. The depth it went into while doing this really drives home what a thought-provoking and ground-breaking game it was.

  • hugh everett ... very valuable scientist

  • DARPA + CRAY + NVIDIA

    ExaFLOP Echelon 2020

Be careful of phases like "It's the bomb" on phones
