*Recology SF* Leach RL on Compostables

This probably is the upload from San Francisco I'm most proud of.

Recology's green waste/food scraps program is very advanced, including dirty paper plates, cardboard, cartons, and almost every food waste product you can think of (see this link for more info: http://www.recologysf.com/pdf/compost_flyer_spanish_chinese.pdf

The truck's doing commercial collection in Chinatown around 6:00 PM, apparently trucks visit Chinatown 7 days a week around this time. There also were two other older Leach RLs in the video, didn't get any close shots of them though. Enjoy the video--and please rate/comment!

Would be nice to see all this raw trash recycling practiced through out the whole country, but with high cost & a complete lack of interest frm most residents or commercial businesses, it'll never happen!!!! & Yep, That's the Leach 2R3 with the standard FASTPAK feature!!! Surprized to see that 2R3 using the carrier/sweep plates frm the Alpha or Delta series Leach!!! But anyway, Great Footage & Thumbs Up!!!!!

@bitterman112 Yeah because of that I was going to say it was an Alpha, not a 2RIII. I wouldn't be so sure that will never happen though my friend, lots of cities all up the west coast do this now...Portland, Seattle....food scrap collection in with the yard waste is catching on. Just wait a few years, it'll reach the east coast.

Hey thats the fastest packing leach i ever saw!! I wish our trash guys had a bin lift that worked like that one.Its the best i ever saw he can shake the bins long as it takes to empty them nice.This is a super good video saved to favorites and my playlist.Thank YOU

I love watching the Leachs handling the food and organic waste.... funny how all the Chinese shopkeepers come rushing out with boxes and all their waste. Looks like total madness down there in the early evening - terrible time to be sending the trucks through, but I guess it's the correct time too. Must get some serious tonnage on these trucks when they're full! Awesome footage! Also cool shot showing the three trucks in close proximity.

@AlliedWaste76 i do too. but atleast the older trucks are still noral. but all of he sf norcal trucks have a recolgy sf decal on them. .  Upside down u

but in auburn they all have a norcal scheme and logo

this is one of the most important ways of recycling and sould be nation wide but if we are still telling half the people in this country its a good idea to recycle we caqn just dream of this being nationwide

that first bin to hit the tipper at the beginning look heavy as hell (just the way the collecter handles it that makes it look that way)

at leat they get thrown in the roght bin haha

@tharealsteven Not really, The hoppers are always almost dry. I've seen them often. There's not really much time for this stuff to rot in the cans anyways since it's all so fresh and collection is daily.

Is the compostables program to limit the plastic bags usage? Since Plastic cant really break down in landfills.
