@cb2398 I'm not 100% sure that's what it means. I have always interpreted those lines to mean that she couldn't feel anything for him, so she faked it because she IS a real actress. It's away to rub it in his face.

My friend always sings the last 3 lines of this song. "so I dug right down to the bottom of my soul, and cried... 'cause I felt nothing." She can't feel lifes pains. Whenever someone dies, or somthing bad happens, she can't cry about it, she can only cry about the fact that she can't feel it. The poor girl. She WANTS to feel. But, she can't.
