These are my Rocky Boots that have only been worn a few times. The soles are defective and Rocky won't do anything about it. This has bothered me for some time and I decided to make a video about it to educate other comsumers. These are expensive boots. I bought them for $150.

  • I have the same problem. Perfect upper and soles gone. I have lot of boots and these were in closet with others (redwings, lacrosse, danner, ecco) and I tried to wear them the other day to the office when we got snow and after walking all over the office I started to notice this black stuff everywhere. By the time I followed it around a second time I had a real mess and had to call the cleaning staff in special to clean it up. What a mess. No more Rockys for me.

  • I have the same problem with a pair of Rocky boots. You would think the company would want to fix this problem !

  • I never seen such crappy soles even from wal mart workboots 9 days of wear? The upppers are made well but the soles are of the worst garbage, it would be better to resole them with a piece of used tire treds

  • Rocky boots are garbage. Back in the 90s they were awesome. Over the past several years they started aerating the rubber to make them softer and have more grip. Doing so significantly lowers the life of the boot which is probably the real reason they did it. If you store your boots like you did, they rot. The moisture from wearing them is retained in the aerated holes in the rubber. The result is garbage boots.

  • Same thing happened to me.Bought them in 2008 and Rocky told me they were made in 1999. They (Rocky Boots) have a problem and aren't addressing it well. They're going to lose my business. The soles just came off in pieces on a 4 day Kansas hunt. Thank goodness it didn't snow. Traction was gone...nothing left of the soles and I only wore them about 2 weeks a year for 4 years.

  • I had the same problem, after arguing with the nasty rep on the phone I asked for a sup, they did replace my boots but it took 6 months to get them. They gave me Bear Claws to replace what I had. Supposed to be Hunting boots but they are as water proof as a sponge. I will never buy Rocky boots again!

  • I got three words for you....Made In China. Get some Danners they will last and last under any and all conditions.

  • I have the same exact problem.........ROCK BOOTS knowingly sold a defective product. I purchased my boots in 08 strickly for hunting, I wore these boots no more than 6-7 days in 2 years...This year I walked maybe 30 yards and the boots soles started coming apart ...i took them to the dealer and was told that the boots were made in 01...I bought them in 08, but the sole rubber was made to break down in 10 years ROCKY knowingly kept selling the problem to the public....State AG time?

  • I am having the same problem with my rocky's. I bought them a couple years ago for winter wear when clearing snow. Put them on this year and the sole just crumbled off. Terrible product.

  • i am just now taking off of rocky boots the soles that look brand new but are crumbling. i take them off with a putty knife, just scrape them off and clean the boot bottom off and resew the midsole and put new lug soles on them. forty dollars a pair. 8709359883
