The TBUS Himalayan Bowl Quality Standard is the only objective sound quality measure for singing bowls in the market today. It is the result of research into the nature of the sound quality factors of these remarkable sacred sound instruments. The certification process uses a computer based sound analysis program, which captures sound clips, analyzes the voiceprint of the bowl, and documents both the voiceprint spectrum over time and snapshots of the constituent frequencies at any point of time. The bowl sound quality certification takes into account the number of primary harmonics, the persistence of these harmonics, the mathematic perfectness of the intervals, and the degree of resonant harmonic interplay. Although the 'market value' of any particular bowl can be determined by a number of factors like collectability, most western consumers are more concerned with the sound quality of their purchase.
