Tiling a painted cement basement floor using Durock tile membrane. I used a 3/16" trowel to lay down the glue for the tile membrane. They state you can use a paint roller, but I think a trowel puts down more glue and more evenly. The sections of tile membrane were overlapped an inch or so. I mentioned I did not have quite enough tile membrane. I bought a 300sqft roll and a bucket of glue, which is supposed to cover 300 sq ft. I suspected I would run short of glue and membrane, so I purchased another bucket and the kit I showed.
