Riverfront Stadium, Home of the Cincinnati Reds, Goes Away

The National's original home, Cincinnati, is also home to a Major League Baseball team, the Reds (neat-o!). Watch the team's former home, Riverfront Stadium (also known as Cinergy Field), collapse as the city makes way for its new Great American Ball Park. so sad. saw my first game here in 95, 8 years old. Barry Larkin hit a grand slam against the Astros and Ron Gant hit a two run homer.

Riverfront will always be my stadium. I was so comfortable there.  I'll never forget the first time the bright green astroturf came into view. I saw a lot of baseball in that place. A lot of bad baseball too but I loved it all.

First MLB game I ever attended was in this ball park on May 16th 1971, which turned out to be a bitter-sweet experience as I watched the Reds get clobbered by the Expos. I was 8 years old.
