Just to tell you - I'm very well aware of this. Seeing as though I saw Joe Cocker at woodstock in 1969 - WAY before you were even born - I'm guessing....
Regardless of what Cocker did to the song - It was written by the Beatles - Not Cocker.

just to tell you, it's a joe cocker cover, who rearranged the music, changing the time signature, key, and added an instrumental section all making it a better version (imho) than the beatles original.
