I am surprised that nobody UL'ed this NINEMILLION.ORG video until now. It is about the Sumgayit Refugee Camp north of Baku, Azerbaijan (AZ).

The camp is located about an hour north of the Azerbaijani capital Baku. It hosts refugees fled from two conflicts - one within AZ, and one in Chechnya. One in 8 people in AZ is a refugee or "internally displaced person" due to the war with Armenia over the disputed Azeri region Nagorny (mountainous) Karabakh (black vineyard).

Refugee families have been expelled by the Armenian invaders from the Azeri cities of Nagorny Karabakh such as Lachin and Fizuli. However, their children are born in Sumgayit - a deserted place north of Baku extremely polluted with industrial wastes. A place on Earth you would definitely not want to live.

Alistair Campbell, a film producer, reports about the positive impact of introducing football into the lives of young kids, boys and girls, to help them out of depression and deprivation.

  • @achinguelian4 FUCK ARMENIANS

  • All those houses used to be owned by Armenians, they chased Armenians and took over their houses

  • There were dozens of casualties, mostly burnt alive after assaults and torture. Hundreds of innocent people were wounded and disabled. The story of Sumgait marked the first entry in a long list of crimes against humanity and ethnic cleansings of the end of the 20th century.

  • The events were preceded by a wave of anti-Armenian statements and rallies that swept over Azerbaijan. Almost the entire area of the town with population of 250 thousand became a site of unhindered mass pogroms. Armed with iron rods, stones, axes, knives, bottles and canisters full of petrol, the perpetrators broke in Armenian houses.

  • The massacre of Armenians in Sumgait (a town located a half an hour drive away from Baku) took place on February 27-29, 1988.

  • I don't agree with some Armenians who believe in their "heroic victory" in NK. First, the war is not finished yet. Second, after hundred years of disastrous defeats small and not final victory can't change Armenians loser mentality.

    Long Live Azerbaijan
