  • Why would there be blood on it?

  • @SydandReese

Good question. Emergency point-of-care ultrasound includes evaluations of trauma patients, procedural guidance under ultrasound, and the evaluation of other people who can be bleeding. Its all the more reason why we wanted to stress the importance of cleaning the ultrasound machine before and after each shift and most importantly before and after each patient.

  • The only thing I dislike about this is the blood but then again its a hospital

  • @thniugtu - We also do not like to see blood on our machine, and so thought it important to stress the importance of clueing the machine thoroughly for our patients.

  • i was wondering....do ultrasound technicians have a designated workspace? like a specific office or room that they can call their own?

  • You must wash your hands before make an examination on other patient!

  • @vbellamk But aren't you supposed to use special probe covers, for one thing, not to infect patients?
