i miss how awsome hunters were b4 patch 3.0, all u needed was steady shot and arcane now u gotta hit like 5 different shots :(

I would say Survival, also you may want either a Crab or Ravager for a pvp pet just for their snare and stun ^^. I have been using them on my old account that does not have WOTLK yet and they are doing great for getting gold for Epic flying and Dual Spec while in Nagrand. And of course go Bear for AoE grinding. A caster pet maybe needed for dungeons.

As of Cataclysm you will want to make sure your pets have the talent to take less magic damage, the elementals will hit hard.
