Jonathan Buckley, host for Power TV, demonstrates in this video a crash course on the difference between a stock ignition and a MSD performance ignition. A multi spark ignition gives you more horse power and better throttle response, but the question is why. A stock ignition system is good for a regular car, but it is not optimized for performance. MSD ignition boxes feature multiple sparks at lower RPMS along with a stronger, hotter ignition spark to completely ignite the mixer. MSD uses a capacity of discharge technology to create a very high primary voltage. The high power sparks ensure combustion mix in everything from idle to high racing RPMs. You can run a larger spark plug gap that produces more power and performance.
How to choose the right MSD ignition for your application? MSD Digital 6 is a digitally controlled ignition that can produce up to 535 volts and has multi--spark functions, dual rev limiters and a 2-step which is perfect for a street car. For racing applications, a motor enthusiast should choose a Digital 7 MSD Ignition. When running nitrous or NOS, the ignition combustion system must burn the higher fuel & air mixture more effectively. The Digital 7 features over 30% more spark energy than the 6 box, so it can support engines up to 2000 horsepower. It comes complete with MSD Pro Data software to program custom timing adjustments, nitrous boost and more. Multi spark coil systems are available for DIS systems.

  • i learned my lesson once from pep boys... they never fixed the original problem with my car but fixed what they "thought" it was... $700 and i had to remove my car from their parking lot on a tow truck....

  • bla bla bla!

  • pep boys sucks, they've managed to mess up everything i have them do in some way or another.

  • pep boys workers are idiots. They put the wrong key in my car and broke it off in the ignition. Then it took several days for them to fix it. I still had to pay and they didn't provide a rental car.

  • how did i get here?

  • ok.. why did i watch this?

  • ahhhhhhhhh so boring
