This bloody thing plays at work a lot, but compressed so it's hard to understand, been driving me nuts. Picked my dad's brain and he was able to ID the song, now I can actually follow it when it plays at work.

THANK-YOU for posting this song. I have been trying to find the "long version," with the guitar bridge, on youtube.

@donwlsn86 Hey neighbor, What a trip! I grew up right next door to San Marino school and San Marino park on a culdesac San Rolando way on the S/E corner of Valley View and Crescent. I was 12 in 74'. You said you spent the summer there so I assume you didn't reside there. I'd be interested If I knew your friends. Sounds like we had the same damn parties. Remember the street they lived on? It was a bitchen' place to grow up back then. How cool!

@mtcamp62 Wow, I thought i was the only one! I spent the summer of '74 in Buena Park, I was almost 12. My oldest brother's best friends mom's house came complete with a pool, rec room w/ pool table, dart board, and of course a full bar. Red split window '63 'vette in the driveway. His friends were Vets, hippies, or both. I believe we were a few blocks south east of the 91 and Valley View. Great summer in O. C.!!

Blunt Blowin
Jim was a genuine American folk artist -- he sang songs about the folks, from Leroy Brown to the Roller Derby Queen -- and he may well have been the last one. Nobody since has dispensed folk wisdom like "you don't mess around with Jim" and "Leroy learned a lesson bout messin with the wife of a jealous man" and we aren't likely to hear such bullseye poetry again.
