Kune tribe: Drinking & celebrations - Tribal Wives - BBC

Six women give up their everyday lives and spend a month living with some of the world's most remote tribes, immersing themselves fully into their new culture. Each woman must work, eat and sleep exactly as the other tribal women. Man, it looks like old Kune women can liven up any party! They should hire themselves out to do just that. "Yes, that's right. We're throwing a big wedding reception for our daughter and our son-in-law, and there'll be about 400 guests, so...I think we'll need to hire eight Kune women to run the wet bar and the DJ booth. No, I'm afraid we can't pay in canoes. Will American dollars do? Oh, I see. $800 worth of smoked ham and Jack Daniels, then. Thank you. We'll pick them up on Sunday."

A community getting together to get plastered and be stupid and be o.k. with that. So different from my world.

My world: You will be judged harshly for everything you do. Getting plastered is a sin. No one should ever know you are a joyful, plastered idiot. Sit alone in front of your computer. Lived in Panama twice. Didn't walk far enough into the jungle. Didn't escape my culture. Can't.
