Sphere is a multi-user, multi-touch-sensitive spherical display in which an infrared camera used for touch sensing shares the same optical path with the projector used for the display.

Sphere has been developed by Hrvoje Benko, Andy Wilson, and Ravin Balakrishnan at Microsoft Research.

  • a teatherball app would be pretty cool. play tether ball in your living room without knocking anything over

  • wouldn't sphere pong be kinda pointless, considering it's an (essentially) infinite play field?

  • that sphere pong is interesting:p

  • Don't listen to them, I think it's a fantastic interface. Can I beta test? I was about to build my own DIY flat screen multitouch, but this is much more intuitive. I'd love to try 3D modeling with this as the interface.
