The WASR10/63 is the best Ak you can get because they don't cost a lot and lets face it your more than likely never going to see any kind of action with it, and for what your spending and what your doing why by anything other than a Romanian Rifle? That is Unless you are an Ak purist and you have more of a collector mind.

Check and make sure the rifle has a tapco trigger, or at least when the trigger resets that it does not slap.

Check and make sure that the Rifle has no canted sights and that the sights and gas block are strait.

Check and make sure that the magazine does not wobble. on Romanian rifles make sure that they have dimples inside the magazine well.

Make sure the barrel is not shot out.
make sure the barrel has a crown.
Make sure the serial numbers all match.
make sure the rivets are all correct.

don't be stupid and you can get a good Romanian Ak rifle!

From what i've seen one of the best, most reliable AK47's are the imported Romanian SAR1's. I've had one for years and years and never had a single jam. Not one! Build quality is very good and will be passed to my son one day!

Sorry it is kind of hard to take advice from a guy who shoots himself in he leg and blames it on the holster. Plus with the things that are going on today you are more than likely have to use it in a combat situation. Yes there are good and bad AK's variants out there, but if I'm going to defend not only my life but the lives of my family I want the best weapons and equipment. My Brother has a Wasr10 I kinda wince whenever I see it but it does go bang when the trigger is pulled.  If youre on a generic beer foodstamp budget the Wasr10 will elevate you 1 wrung on Maslow's Heirarchy.

wasr 10 is the lowest of the ak lines,,, if you want a decent one try for a norinco,, if you have a lot of money to waste get a milled. wasr 10 is good but not great, kinda like dollar store laundry soap, it works but there is better out there
