@orpheus06 Probably had more to do with the individual guitar rather than just the basswood. I've had a couple of basswood S3's and they were not lacking in low end at all.

I hesitate between a S3 Mahogany like your's, or a Standard Mahogany with maple or koa top...
I think the sound and playing will be fairly the same... ?

@Coemaster9 the neck is very comfortable. Are you sure about the S5? I'd say get a standard.. I had an S3 basswood and never got used to it. It always lacked of low end for me.. I'm thinking that it was because of the basswood.. don't know. if you get it.. play it for a month and let me know!
