sorry lads, just wondering, is this tune ye're own? And who is the Fraher of the title? I ask only cos it makes me think firstly of Dan Fraher of Dungarvan, Waterford, one of its more famed GAA men....

From the sleeve notes of The Pipering of Willie Clancy Vol. II:
"Willie had a special regard for this tune. Fraher, a piper who was born around 1800, passed the tune on to James Burke. His pupil the Reverend Brother Gildas gave it to Willie."

Píob Mór which phonetically has been erroneously translated as "War Pipe" are the Irish Big Pipes, Scotland has an equivelant called the Great Highland Bagpipes.
