I've been hoping to find this for years. I must
have been about 6 when i watched it. The witch terrified me then and she's still pretty damn spooky! That cackle just made my hair stand on end! Thanks for posting it.

I remember this as a kid, being scared silly of the witch. I used to love the show. Must have been only five years old at the time. None of my mates can remember it, and to be honest I was starting to think I had imagined the show. Thanks uk archivist.

I remember this well myself. Don't be embarrassed about being scared by the witch when you were five or six, I was still scared stiff of her at twelve! Although I'm now 58 years old, I'm actually watching this episode from behind the settee.....

@progchick1 ME TOO and my sister used to always do it to scare me LOL

I don`t doubt "theukarchivist"s information concerning the voice over`s being done by Peter Hawkins. However, there`s more than a suggestion of Spike Milligan when Huru speaks !

I'm 44 now and according to my mum this programme scared me at the time. Crying etc. Amazing to watch something I only have very vague memories of. I can definately recall seeing this.

At 46 I was beginning to think I just imagined, as a child, the the refrain "shes out to get you she's out to get you beware" Thanks

So, do I have to be on something to watch this?
from the original dutch version there are about 30 episodes on youtube, all the puppets voices are from the original writer of the Paulus de boskabouter (woodgnome) books and are very different from the english ones, check it out ;-)
look for 'Paulus de boskabouter ' clips from 'ambidexter69'

Goodness - there are a lot of episodes out there in their original Dutch language versions. The author may be voicing his own stories but, even though I don't speak dutch, he just doesn't seem to have the vocal dexterity the actor doing the English Language versions did. I think the English ones were done single-handedly by the much-loved Peter Hawkins (voice of Bill and Ben, Captain Pugwash, Daleks, etc.) who made the episodes really come alive for children in the 1960s.
