The song "OneO'clock Jump" was one of Basie's jam tunes at first and they called it "Blue Ball" when they used it to close a radio show Basie was asked what the name of that song was.. not wanting to use the name the band called it Basie looked up at the clock and it was 1:00 and there you have it. The arrangement was reworked by Eddie Durham and Buster Smith, but the bad ass in the song was Lester Young
