DQMJ2Pro - Leonyx Battle

Leonyx is fought in both vanilla and Professional versions of Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2. He is basically a check to make sure you'll actually SURVIVE very long in the bonus dungeon, the Dark World. He's not too bad, but like I said, you fight him to see if you'll survive your trek through the Dark World with your current team.

I make a few mistakes during the fight, and that results in my active team wiping out. As Leonyx finds out in the end, however, my reserve party is FAR more formidable...


That aside, you may notice the menus, monster names, traits, resistances and skills are in English. That is because this is played with a translation patch - I actually provided most of the monster names (I'm Bagan666 and __Shinryu__ on the GameFAQs message boards). A number of skills, resistances and traits have numbers for their names, because their English counterparts haven't been found yet. Seeing as I bought Joker 2 vanilla, and beaten it, I'm using that knowledge to list what each of the unnamed things are (ex: S253 is Donk, S254 is Kadonk, and Resistance 253 is Donk). For giggles, I'm also writing down the stats of every boss - they might end up on the wiki's walkthrough once I'm finished getting them all.

I'm not sure whether or not the story will be translated - I haven't heard any word on it. Professional added about 500 new monsters, so getting their information translated is higher on the priority list. I know the story for vanilla, but once you get all the pieces of something (not spoiling what), you can enter an entire new world that is exclusive to the Professional version and basically doubles the story's length. (Starting to hate Square-Enix, yet?)

@ruffmajor I could make a Corvus as we speak, but doing so requires me to give up a Magarugi (Corvus is King Godwyn + Magarugi), so I'm a bit hesitant. Plus, Corvus' stats aren't all that great, though he's used to make the first form of the second story's final boss.
