nuclear bombs will not give an atomic yeild if they dont function as designed you will get about 5lb tnt evq and alot of radiation thats it that whole explosion is propellant from the rocket motor

This explosion is very real. I was in the USAF and I was on an ICBM launch crew. This missile is an early Atlas missile. This is the type missile that launched John Glenn into space. There was a major malfunction with the engines and the missile simply could not produce enough thrust to get the missile going on it's way. There's lots of heat and when the missile came back down, it just broke up and all the fuel and ozidizer spilled out and exploded.
