Vinyet Productions presents the second installation of STILL - the art exhibition show.
Displayed at King King Hollywood on Thursday, December 11, 2008, STILL will transform the way fashion,
dance, art and music are interpreted by showcasing them in a seamless, interactive showcase devoid of
sound, motion or both.
This multi-sensory journey will feature each art form interpreted through the concept of STILL. In a
traditional runway show models move along a catwalk, while the audience is a stationary observer; in this
exhibit, the models will be STILL and the audience will move throughout the venue to observe the
statuesque figures. Dancers will execute choreography in noiseless or motionless performance iterations.
Photographic stills will be the centerpiece of the art exhibit and will be on display in a slide projection
installation. Live and pre-recorded music will create a general cadence for the evening, but abrupt pauses
in sound will provide the atmospheric backdrop for most of the other exhibits.
This event inspires its patrons to be very active in the presentation, both physically and mentally. They will
be informed by non-verbal lighting and sound cues and, as things begin happening in the stillness of the
room, they will begin to wander through the space making unique discoveries. The improvisational
choreography of audience makes them as much a contributor to this exhibit as the artists themselves.
STILL will bring together over ten artists of varied influences and interpretations. Headlining the fashion
exhibit is The Other Duck clothing line, which is a brand that transforms, yet embraces contradictions
through abstract patterns and fabrics. Choreographer Rachel Bowman presents an acrobatic aerial dance
that will transform the traditional convention of dance as a seemingly grounded art form. Featured art
exhibitor Eric Chu captures every day moments in photographs and interprets them through the perfect
intersection of mood, moment, and light. Lastly, the headlining performance band, The Dirty Martinis, is a
progressive funk-n-groove ensemble brought together by a desire to create deeply soulful music with an
eclectic rock edge. Additional contributors are body paint artist Nelly Recchia; fashion designers Triple
Threat and Raynedropz; dance performance troupe Groovaholix; photographer Mike Quain; and
musicians Eddie Gomez, Devine Evans and Bruno Mars.
Tickets to this exhibit are $20 pre-sale and $30 at the door. Tickets can be purchased online at
www.vinyetproductions.com or at the King King box office. Advanced purchase is recommended and all
proceeds benefit the participating artists directly. This event is 21 and older.
