Resident Evil 4 Load Game Time Attack (1-3)

Chapter 1-3 load game *no glitches*

There are some small changes in this chapter.

The beginning is easier than it looks. All we need is the first guy from the last group to run up the left side for this to work. Then I can go down the side and under the last guys arm. This dodge looks very weird I must admit. It definately dosen't look like Leon is going to pass him but it rarely fails. It might be something to do with the enemies still on camera which makes the axe guy miss more often. Maybe the game is still loading the others and must delay his attack. It's surprisingly consistent anyway :)

The next few areas up to the boulder dodge are just running. Nothing special except my tiny route change in the graveyard. I just feel this is slightly faster somehow.

I deliberately dodge the boulder late because Leon keeps moving before I dodge and I finish alot further down the hill afterwards. It probably wont save anything when we are using the Ditman but since I am not I think the extra running on the boulder is faster.
The tripwires are different now. We used to equip the Chicago Typewriter and shoot them with that. Cleary this is faster but the huge distance of running afterwards will slow us down alot more than using the grenades did.

Del Lago is the biggest problem as always (especially as the strategy has changed) and makes runs a huge waste most of the time. The first 5 harpoons are consistent but once we travel to the right there is much luck needed to finish. For a start he must stay up and not submerge. Then the actual 6th harpoon is ridiculously difficult to time to perfection. We must throw at the right time, not too early and not too late. We wait until we see him appear then throw down to the left slightly and hope it hits him. Throwing too early will miss him and throwing too late means we will most likely not manage to hit the 10th harpoon. You see here I "just" manage the second last harpoon before he goes under.
I took so long to get this chance and was pretty nervous when I saw that the 10th had landed :)

It is but doesn't work like this on PS2.I wish you had PS2 version also,just to see how bad those axe guys are on it.Worst I've seen them on any console.Same as before,this last guy slashes with exact timing so you can't even go near him this way.Then again,a different way does work so np.

I will play till del lago,save,and try the best I can.If I can't get him without a dive my best effort will do.Not gonna spend all weekend on him

@DerekT21288 Everything just seems to keep changing.Now I can't even face him after his last turn anymore.

or he just dives first turn after the log.Or 100 other things.Also I don't think I actually managed to hit him 3 times in the end.

It's not looking good at the moment.9 hours of del lago today and only 2 successful ones in practice.None last few hours.Great.

And all this for 2 people watching and personal achievement.

@michelvanhoudt It might not work I know but that spear is not needed for a successful fight anyway. You can hit the first three, then one as you dodge between the logs in the water, one as he surfaces followed by 2 more. Then you need to hope he does not dive on the last corner and hit him as he surfaces again for 8 hits. Then 3 more before he goes under again for 11 :) Just make the parts before him consistent and you will get to him more often. Then it's just patience until it happens :)

Thing is,I don't seem to have much time to aim at all or the boat rocks and I don't think the spear gets thrown...

I hit him few times by aiming down and far right but can't seem to do it again.

But that spear just has it's own will sometimes so I'm not even sure it went were I aimed at those few good attempts...

What isn't exciting though is that I can't hit the 4th spear again grrr

Just started again and,I keep getting him after one dive with the first spear from far away so,if that 4th one hits I'm there :(

So far I only got 2 secs better time than amy this chapter and I run with grenade and all.I won't take del lago with a dive,I just can't accept it now that I know I can do it.But damn that one spear

@michelvanhoudt No the loading times are insanely fast on PS3/360 :) 23:30 it is and I'm competing strong with another guy (Tempo_Q) who has 23:35.

@michelvanhoudt You need to aim in front of him so he moves into the spear :) It's surprisingly consistent on gamecube so it might be possible on PS2. I have been speedrunning the PS3 version alot lately and the leaderboards are so fun :) I got 206800 on wesker village and I want to record a 207100 but I forget how to get the first chest 36 consistently again :( I recorded a seperate ways load game run of 23:30 and I will try to upload it soon (probably bad quality because good Q takes too long)

@michelvanhoudt You are NOT bad at him. PS2 is terrible for del lago. I remember every spear missing or going through him when I played through it. You are right though about the saving thing. DO NOT save it on PS2. I forgot how slow the loading is :P You just need to try stuff and find a decent battle because for once I do not know what you should do. He is very different on PS2 and I remember the 4th spear being crazy hard. You should try to aim in front of his head. Thats how it's done on GC
