@tonbridgeman yeah..agreed...I shudder to think about all the classic stuff the BBC (who I usually have the greatest respect for) could have erased from their archives (whether by design or accidentally), because I'm fairly sure some masterpieces unfortunately went down the tubes. Thank God some still survive~ and u gotta give the french props for keeping this one. Ian and Tull in their peak period of creativity:)

@richrol58 In an interview with Roger Taylor, he said on Top of the Pops they gave him a set of practise drums that just made a tapping sound when he hit them. I've never heard anything about the other players in that kind of situation.

It´s time for Johann Sebastian Bach.

Somebody please help me--When groups are miming like in this video, are they actually playing something audible themselves? It looks like Clive is really making contact with his drum set to the extent that he must be making some noise with it. On the other hand Glenn's bass could be turned off and of course Ian could simply be not blowing into the flute. I've always wondered this. It must be weird for an audience present in any case.

Ian Anderson you were a VERY sexy man >:)

Great Upload!
Nice bass playing. Good to see French TV kept this old footage unlike the Beeb who loved to wipe everything.

Jethro Tull did a great arrangement of a classic Bach piece. The TV set suits them well too.
