  • I was getting 5.2 with a c16 600 cat but I was also running 105,500 vs 80,000.I've heard those new motors with the particulate filter burn so hot the motors don't last long.I wonder if there going to rethink there emissions design?

  • @poorboytrucking That is true. To work on this things is ridiculous!! to get to a valve cover you have so much crap to take off its not funny. I am strongly agianst using egr. I do like the fact that we can take a truck now and make it release cleaner air than we breath out the stack. The big emission design that seems to be working well is the eura system. Its real expensive though

  • there is no way it gets 10 miles to the gallon unless you only run bobtail.lol

  • used to own a Prostar had it optioned out and specd with a 250WB Cummins ISX 550 Fuller 18sp double bunk interior rattled like mad interior plastics were thin and cheap very little insulation for the cab and sleeper made for a cold truck in the winter and she drives like shit after you put around 50thousand K on the odo sigh

  • @pwarren1010 I forgot about their famous leaking windshields and the paint bonding issue.As far as the MaxForce Cat engine subject.Why would Navistar buy Cats head ache with all the endless political polution control laws coming out left and right it makes no business sence."But Oh Yeah!".Navistar has been getting subsidized by the North American tax payer like GM and Chrysler (note Ford never took a penny) Interesting here in Canada Navistar has no recollection of the money.

  • Proof is in the cost of operation down the road.The word here is VALUE or the lack of it and sorry looks are skin deep and opinions vary.Truth is the bunks are too small and theres not enough storage for team operations.Dash electronic warning malfunctions due to polutuion control engineering short falls is a largely responsible for exstensive down time.Oh yeah and at 300,000 get ready to replace the cab heat fan motor.What happened to glove boxes?Yes they are junk and Navistar should pay

  • prostars are junk. they look good but im not a fan. interior dash looks good but is made so poorly its funny. the peices look like they were cut out of the cheapest plastic possible. i can literally rip the dash off the truck by hand. the steering tilt lever is in the way of clutching. the air horn on wheel is beat. squeaky cheap feeling clutch steering wheel off center. dont liek how he truck handles or steers.maxxforce engine is hard to shift when ur used to reving up high.

  • @dieseltechy360 well in Canada the truck with the MAXX was 120grand where as mine specd with just a ISX woulda been 127 mine was 132 after i spec'd it out now I have a 09 VNL780 with an ALI ARC which in my opinion should be standard bumpers on all trucks lol had one on the Prostar its a decent truck i guess but it rattles lots hahaha where as the VNL has good expensive plastics, loads of insulation around the same if not better fuel economy you know lol hahahah oh and the Vulva floats!!
