I liked the original version of Tangram and I also like this 2008 one as well.

I bought this version which is pretty good but the original is far superior

As someone wrote ""By nature, musicians are thieves. Nicking a bit of this song and a lick from that one, shaping their style on the riffs of those who came before, musicians are experts in the art of acquisition." I believe they will even steal from themselves. That being said, I love the original "Tangram" album (both sets) . I also like the updated, remake, remastered or what ever version is out there (check out Tangram: Chin Part). Artists do variations on a theme. Few do it as well as TD

First I've heard this reworking. I think I prefer the original, though this is OK. Tangram is like a time machine - hearing it instantly transports me back to a certain place in 1980, complete in every detail. Wonderful stuff!

if the original edition was not something better, for being innovative dramatic and imaginative in sound and vision, than this lounge version used for bidet washing time, we were not here to discuss on this argument. it is simple, isnt it? Thanks anyway for posting it, I didn't know of this restyler edition

Tangram stands out as an icon in TD evolution, yet this version only serves to variate the style to TD's current evolved state. There are those of us who have followed (or been called to) Edgar through the many incarnations of influence and style, some have liked and some have not; no matter what TD has never failed to bring new influences to evolve the music. I think the sax helps to bring the music to a different focus as do the ethereal voices. Either way, I can still "dig it"!

I tuned into TD in the mid-70's. Does that make me an authority? Having new versions of old classic songs offers variety. It doesn't make the original obsolete. Listen to whichever one you're in the mood for. Debate over.

come on edgar, sort it out..... ditch jerome, the sax, the drummer and the bloody women singers. get back together with chris franke and bauman or hasslinger or something coz the tangerine dream that is out there now is more like a fairground act with an audience that is only really happy when they hear an old piece being re-worked into a live set. I want to see 3 people playing keyboards and washing me away with a tsunami of beautifull sounds. Like they used to do !

@echoes707 I wasn't allowed to upload more than 3 minutes. The time you need for your foreplay I guess :-)

Sorry I agree with devo99uk. I'm 50 now and was an avid TD fan for most of my youth until they started to tinker with something that wasn't broke. The original Tangram is far superior to this version.

is a matter of taste, I guess, gilettsibert.
Thanks for your comment.

I do not see the interest of this version, the eccentric is so magnificent, but tangerine dream often made errors, that remains all the same the biggest.

I don't agree with you, but that's ok. Thanks for your comment.
