This is a Phoenix canariensis palm growing well out of it's growing zone. This area of our south west coast of Canada is rated zone 8a. A very impressive specimen for this far north. Aug. 2010

  • @BananaJSSI I have a mix of black earth and a peat moss/perlite/compost mix as soil with fertilizers for soil right now. Apart from desert earth, what soil would sandy and similar two what their parents grew in. Best I can say in terms of species that they are Phoenix dactylifera.
