Environment minister Peter Garrett talks to Fran about the controversy surrounding the dangerous roof insulation that has killed four people and, according to WA fire authorities, has led to one roof fire every week in Western Australia. This isn't the first program roll-out in Peter Garrett's portfolio that has come under fire. He also discusses solar panel rebates, and the green loans scheme.

The responsibility lies with the quick to jump bandwagon wanna be 'businesses' that milked the program without the necessary business or technical skills. "Cost you thousands????" You obviously had no fucking business experience in the past and are one of the opportunists. Now you have no business and because you are an inept fuckstick you will have none in the future.
Get skills - get a business plan - get proper investments and do it properly or go back on the fucking dole where you belong

This man is a fucking disgrace. He and Kevin Rudd cost me thousands and the insulation and Green Loans frauds are the biggest cover ups ever in Australia. Millions of dollars ripped out of this fine countries coffers to cover up their fuck ups.
A dispicable, two faced prick, who has gone back on his beliefs and everything his band stood for. Shows that Midnight Oil were just full of shit.
Rot in hell, Garrett. Take that idiot Rudd with you.

so prior to the programme commencing on 1 July 2009, are you saying your business had NO work for the previous 8 years?? Come on, stop bullshitting and covering up your inept business management skills. The programme was always temporary.

The Minister is right. Fran you need to cut the puppet strings from your newsroom bosses looking for a quick political scalp, use your brain and read the Department's website. A quick scan of the guidelines (freely available to anyone with the ingenuity to look them up) from the INCEPTION of the program quite clearly articulate the safety requirements of installers of insulation. Mr Garrett is right: installers HAVE ALWAYS HAD TO COMPLY with safety req's whether it's a stimulus job or not!
